Artificial Intelligence (AI) is defined as a set of theories and techniques that are implemented in order to have machines perform tasks that a human could perform by using their intelligence.
IA is already in use in many areas of our everyday lives. For example, we encounter Artificial Intelligence whenever we surf on the web. The way the results are ordered by a search engine, the advertisements on the websites we visit, the advertising reminders we receive in our inboxes… all use AI.
We are still a long way off the AI that can be seen in films. It must be noted that artificial intelligence is created for precise purposes and can only develop according to its defined purpose. Machine learning is a subset of IA, its objective is to reproduce a behaviour pattern without having to program it in the code, but by designing an “intelligence” that is able to learn by studying examples and thus to deduct answers.
Deep learning is also a subset of IA and of machine learning. Through deep data networks, it is trained to detect the characteristics of an image or a request in order to deduct an answer by itself.
